The Rock FSG hosted their annual Brooyar RockTrip from July 5-9 in Gympie. This annual event is aimed at aiding those wanting to take their indoor climbing to the next level & learn the art & safety aspects of climbing in the outdoors. For those savvy outdoor climbers, this event gives them a chance to hang out with like minded people, upskill their current abilities as well as take down new climbs & old projects alike.
In 2017 The Rock placed big emphasis on upskilling those wanting to learn more & teaching the art of climbing safely. Participants learnt how to clean anchors, abseil safely & some had their first crack at lead climbing! The stoke was high the whole time with the youth participants having their sessions Wednesday-Friday & the adults took over Friday night-Sunday.
Just like last year, 2 lucky people were offered the chance to spend a night sleeping in a port-a-ledge atop the high cliffs of Point Pure, which for some is a once in a lifetime opportunity! For the others, there was plenty of entertainment on offer around the campfire.
Once again the crew at The Rock FSG put on an impressive event jam packed full of features & activities for any stoked climber, regardless of age. If you think that this is up your alley, get in touch with them for next year as spots are limited! (www.therockindoorclimbinggym.com.au)
