The crew at Pinnacle Sports established & hosted the first inaugural Passchendaele V1 Bouldering Festival from the 7th-9th October. For those who haven’t been, Passchendaele State Forrest plays host to thousands of granite boulders sitting just outside of Stanthorpe on the Granite Belt. This place is a mecca for bouldering & has only just recently been realised as an established bouldering area thanks to the hard work of Pinnacle Sports ambassador, Peter Crane!
The 3 day event welcomed some 80 people with a fully equiped camp site situated on a private farm (thanks to Symara Organic Farm), 10mins drive from the bouldering areas. Whilst at camp, attendees were entertained with a huge outdoor cinema, a presentation from climbing & life coach Tiffany Melius, a dyno comp on the custom built wall, brilliant food & loads of other entertaining activities! To top all that off, you didn’t even have to drive yourself around as there were busses & drivers taking everyone to & from the bouldering areas each day.
This truly was an awesome event & something that has been missing since Beulah closed its doors a few years ago. I can’t wait for next year & I am sure that Passchendaele V1 is going to get better & better each year! Massive congrats to the crew at Pinnacle Sports for their efforts & achievement, & thanks for having me along for the ride!!
